About Floral waters:
When plants are distilled the process produces a small amount of intensely fragrant essential oil which floats on top of a large volume of lightly fragrant water. Because a floral water is collected by the distillation process there are trace elements of essential oil in the water. The water therefore contains valuable therapeutic properties similar to thise of the corresponding essential oil, although much milder. A floral water is generally suitable for use with young children and the elderly where the action of an essential oil may be too strong. A floral water can be used undiluted on the skin. In certain circumstances it can have essential oils added to it for specific treatments.
True Roswater is something of a rarity. Many products sold s Rosewater are composed of entirely synthetic fragrances. Others are a mixture of rose extracts with surfactans. Others contain preservatives and alcohol which can irritate the skin.
How to use:
*on face after cleansing, shaving or before moisturising
*after face masque treatment to soothe and tone
*instead of water, make a paste with clay for face masque
*rehydrate skin while travelling
*on cotton eyepads placed over the eyes to refresh
*a base for adding essential oils to make a body spray
*a base for adding essential oils to make a room spray
